Options for a good factory 18"-20" 6.5 Creedmoor?

I'd prefer not to go through those additional steps, unless it really was a superior option.

$1500 or less, ideally.

Chopping a barrel and getting it threaded really isn't as scary as it sounds. I've been down this path so many times, trying to find a factory short barrel that's also threaded and ready to go. There just aren't that many options out there. Several Class 3 places will cut and thread for $75-$100, and you don't have to remove the barrel, just send the barreled action.

Ruger American Rifle Compact in 6.5CM has a 20" 5/8-24 threaded barrel. I bought one and put it in a Boyds laminated stock for the grandson. Surprisingly accurate, it outshoots my Christensen Ridgeline 6.5CM w/20" barrel.
Games over we have a winner!!! Rifle and quality scope ready to hunt under budget!!!

Thanks for the Bergara ridge sp recommendation. Do you have any experience with this gun? Does Bergara have a good reputation?

I have 2 of the ridge model rifles. One in 6.5 creed and a wilderness model in 7mm rem mag. I put both into ag composite stocks. I like them and they shoot well. Pic of the rem mag.

Very interesting. I'd be putting on a 5" suppressor, so this option might work out.

Does anyone have experience with this gun? How's the accuracy? Any drawbacks?

I don't with this specific gun, but I do with the Ruger American Predator. Ruger came out with the Predator first, and then came out with the Go-Wild series which is a fancier stock and cerakoted action and barrel. To put it in perspective, I have a Fierce CT 300 Win Mag with a Swaro X5 5-25 for big game, and then I have a Ruger American Predator with Boyds stock also with a Swaro X5 3.5-18 for medium sized game. The Fierce is 10x the cost of the Ruger, but they both shoot amazing. I also have a 18" 308 Predator that I got for my 12 year old son to shoot suppressed for elk. That one is bone stock and also shoots great, but I don't expect him to shoot long range with it. If I did, I would upgrade the stock as that is the weak point.

Isn't there a Bergara option for a short barrel on either the ridge or the hmr? Also there is the savage hunter AR10 that has an 18" barrel

I have a bergara ridge 18" 6.5cm that is a stout little rifle. Dropped the barreled action into a manners EH1A stock and its the perfect length for a blind/treestand setup or short enough with a suppressor for a truck or sxs. It holds right around .5 moa with hornady precision eldx. For the $700 or so I paid it's hard to beat.

I'm looking to diversify, and want to add a factory 6.5 CM with a 18-20" max barrel, but it must be threaded 5/8-24. I'm not having any luck with searches online....anyone know options for me to look at?

Edit to add that the gun would be used for hunting in tight quarters, so weight is a consideration.
If you're ONLY hunt with it and no long range (800+), your options are wide open - sporter barrel or larger. If you're wanting to also plink LR go for the heavier or fluted barrels. Love my Savage BA 10/110 - it's a shooter.
