I recently acquired my rifle so I'm in the process or getting to know it. Remington 700 DBM 25.5" pipe with brake 1:9.5 twist. Hope to get out this weekend test some loads. Mounted the Swarovski few days ago.

I did build some loads with the h1000/160ab

That will certainly prove to be a good combination. It has been for me. Mine and most folks I know seem to favor H1000 for the STW. Cant wait to see feedback on your range day.

I posted a range report in the reloading thread. Scope worked out great just didn't try out the brh yet

I run a Steiner Xtreme Predator 3x12x56 with the S1 reticle on my Mark V STW and a Zeiss Conquest 4.5x14x50 with the z-plex reticle on my Winchester 70 Classic stainless STW

I put a Quigley-Ford QF520 on my Remington 700, 7mm STW, I had it custom built for 140gr bullet at 3300 fps. They build it to 1000 yards. This model is the First Focal Plane and the BDC works at any power from 5 to 20. This is a great scope for hunting purposes, no turrets to mess with, just range target, pick out the reticle and shoot.. Simple and Fast ... I have not shot it past 600 yards as that is as long as I have at my house. ONLY down side is ...the rifle has a permanent LOAD and this scope has a permanent home, as the reticle is built for this LOAD !! HOWEVER with 140gr Ballistic Silvertips in front of 81grs IMR 7828 it shoots thumbnail groups...

The STW really shines at longer distances, so you'll want more magnification than what you currently have. I would suggest something on the high end of 18-25x. I put a Sightron SIII 6-24x with the MOA2 reticle. Love this reticle and I've been very happy with the scope. You'll want a reticle that will allow you to dope for the wind, too. I have a custom turret on it, so dial and shoot is great, but the reticle also allows me to holdover if I need. The glass is good, but not as good as my Swarovski Z5 5-25 BT 4W. I have that on my 300 WSM, but am limited to about 750 yards with its custom turret. Thought about putting it on the 7 STW, but would need a 20 moa rail and minimum 200 yard zero to be able to dial for longer distances.
I've shot 2 Wyoming antelope a little over 400 yards in the past 2 seasons. It was a chip shot for the STW and almost too easy. It's great having the confidence in a rifle that you know will perform if you do your part. The STW is that rifle for me.

Well, I got a wild hair like Mudrunner and couldn't pass up a deal on a NF ATACR 5-25x56. So, it's new home is on my STW, and I put the Sightron on my 6,5-284 Norma. Unless I purchase another weapon, I think I'm done swapping out optics.

I'm running a Burris xtr-ii 4-20 50 mm objective with h591 reticle. It's First Focal Plane and highly recommend that feature.

I'm running a NF NXS 5.5-22x56 (model C378) on my custom rig. It has the velocity 1000 reticle and I tailor my load to it. I love being able to throw up at anything from 0-1000 yds without any elevation adjustment.

Burris Eliminator III Laser Rangefinder Rifle Scope - The Eliminator III 4-16x-50mm riflescope is the ultimate scope for long range shooting.

.......Never found myself in a situation where I didn't have more than enough scope to get the job done......

More X's can be useful, but if I read the question correctly it's about if another system of reticle, and/or adjustments could be helpful in extending range, Answer is yes, if you take time ti learn the system.
