I hunted in the MTs north of Rye Patch. I had to hunt really high as high as I could go. We camped at the top of a saddle and then I hiked way up to the top of the Mts behind camp. The day I shot my buck I had to lay low as two really nice Mule Deer Bucks grazed past me. I shot him about 300 yards below me and to the right.............I used a .243 with a 80gr Barnes TSX- Tipped @ 3400 fps..................that is one nasty bullet about a 1.50 exit hole..............it was a tuff pack out all the hair on his sides and shoulders and neck were gone.............then we packed him out the rest of the way on the Quad..................We saw some really nice Muleys but they were way up high and it was a tuff hike to get up to them.
