3275 is all that 6.5 shoots? I thought that would be faster, like 3600fps.

Thats plenty fast for my needs, some other rounds and other weatherby calibers (257/378) can shoot faster ~3500
Consider
The 120mm smoothbore main gun on the M-1 Abrams tank fires a depleted-uranium penetrator rod at least 5,700 fps.
Navy's Rail Gun, which employs electric current rather than gunpowder, gets over 8,000 fps

For as long as I can recall Wby has been known to be pretty heavy on the peddle!

Add a hot day and perhaps a hot lot of powder and this can happen.

Bought a 100 round box of Winchester.45 ACP 230 gr FMJ got to the range opened the box surprise they where hollow points called Winchester had to leave a message never heard back. They shoot fine but was surprised.

Me too. My 23" barreled 280 AI shoots 140 AH over 3300 FPS. Glad Weatherby is taking care of you, and that no one got hurt.
