Not impressed with ADG brass

i've used winchester for 40 + years. i've read ppu has good brass, but haven't tried any in my 7-08. adg brass at the time is all i could find for my 7saum, but haven't used any of it yet either. brass i mainly have for nearly all calibers and cartridges i have is hornady. i did get a great buy on norma 264wm brass as my 40 yo win brass i've reloaded over 24 times might be on it's last leg? the norma brass i have for 6.5prc seems to be good. the only lapua brass i have is in 338lm to try against the imi brass in same cartridge. i don't have any complaints against any of the brands on brass i have on hand so far.

Ideal would be the brass with the most weight and capacity, but generally the heaviest brass has lower capacity, like Peterson. So you must back down charge weight by 1-2grs and either get same velocity as a larger capacity case, or under depending on where the peak pressure comes with the different burn rates of powders.

Also, brass composition differences, or simply put, different brands of brass can have different POI loaded with same powder & bullet. The different compositions must flow to fit chamber at different rates.

ADG brass is just fine in my book. I have only had one piece in 8 boxed that was really beat up. Loads all seemed fine. I bought a box of Nosler Brass 2 years ago for my 280 AI and it came really beat up. Called them and they only replaced half of what was trashed. Better than nothing I guess but this stuff should of never made it past a quality inspection.

I have had good success with ADG and Lapua brass. Using an AMP annealer it should last a long time. Peterson brass is also of very high quality but I have only used it in a .300 Win Mag.

Lapua, Alpha, ADG and Peterson are all excellent brass. I've had excellent results with all of the above in all the cartridges I load for but I don't own a RUM. With ADG I load 65PRC, 300PRC, 300WSM and 270WSM and it gets better after 2-3 firings.

I've switched brass in the past and have had to completely redo a load with different primer and powder or just one or the other. ADG tells you when you buy the brass that you will have to vary your recipe as it may pressure out faster. I was using Hornady brass when I first got my 300 and 65 PRCs as it was all that was available. When ADG came out I immediately ordered both cases for my PRCs and redid both loads with different powders and ended up with much better results. ADG brass is excellent stuff and it's tough as nails also from my experiences.

I've only loaded two boxes of ADG in 6.8 Western and done second loading of one box. I have no complaints. I did have to deburr + chamfer, which I would have done with any new brass, but the length was consistent within 0.002". The only brass I had to compare case capacity with was Winchester, and the ADG was about 3gr less than Win.

I use ADG in 300 RUM, 300 WM, 7 Rem mag and 6.5 PRC. A little less case capacity than Norma, Nosler and Rem.
I've had no problems with any of it.
Same with Lapua in 6.5x284. Good stuff.
I used Nosler in 300 RUM years ago. The primer pockets were trashed after 3 firings. I could get 6 to 7 out of Rem brass.

some ADG is decent the PRC and SAUM have been good for me but the RUM case has not been so good.
don't go by case weight go by capacity and ADG has all been lower than most others on capacity causing pressure problems.

haven't tried Peterson RUM cases so keep us updated with your results
I loaded three new Peterson cases with 90 gr of H1000 and 300 Bergers, my standard load for my Edge. Three shots had these velocities:
2886
2881
2891

The ADG with the same load (new cases) varied from 2840 to 2860 +/-
