I did exactly what you're recommending.
This is what excessive head space looks like.
I dont know what reamer or head space gauge was used but this is not normal.
I suspect it was one or the other if not the wrong combination of both.
Make a chamber cast and measure it (Use Cerro Safe from Brownells).
If you are using 280 rem ammo buy a 280 Rem Head space gauge and check the head
space (About $35.00 from Manson or PT&G). it should be less than .004.
Stop shooting it untill you find the problem because it will hurt the chamber if it has not
already done so.
