I would go with the .308. Other than recoil, there is no advantage to a 6.5. I use a 20" .308Win with 180 gr bullets when I deer hunt in MN. Never found it lacking.
Because his max distance is 300 yards…so BC is moot.If you are going to run a 124-130, why would you not take advantage of the higher BC and SD of a 6.5mm over a .308"?
308 is always the right answer
10 years ago, I'de of said 308 win for the win...today, you have to see what is available at your honey hole, unless you order by the case...and even still, you have to find what it likes...
