I have a Nikon Monarch 2-8x32 BDC on my BAR 308 and very happy. Good glass and reliable precision of turrets. Have never noticed any zero correction needs. I am not sure that BDC circles are big, all depends on a target size although I prefer using turrets rather than a reticle.
If this is small for you I would also look at monarch 2.5-10 or 3-12. The latter has a side focus in addition.
