No experience with the Swaro but if you want a scope that you won't have to worry about using the warranty on buy the NF.
I read that the 4-32 has a more forgiving eye-box, that was my reason for choosing it over the 2.5-20. I plan on looking through both before purchasing though.Agree I prefer the 2.5-2o also more MoA than the 32
I found if you take the Tenebraex Covers off of the 2.5-20 that they come with the eyebox issue is for the most part gone. I don't think many ever remove them and is where the complaint comes from. Those covers are quite large and do narrow the FOV for sure. Changed things for me significantly.I read that the 4-32 has a more forgiving eye-box, that was my reason for choosing it over the 2.5-20. The Swarovski scope actually weighs 15.9 oz! Right from Swarovski Web site. It was almost half of what the NC. I have one and 16 oz is correct. The X5i Sawros are actually heavier than the NF NX8 by a few ounces.
X5i 3.5-18 =30.7oz
X5i 5-25 =32.1oz
NX8 4-32=28.9oz
Me personally I'd go with the NX8
You are referring to the Z5 not the X5. Totally different scope. The Swarovski scope actually weighs 15.9 oz! Right from Swarovski Web site. It was almost half of what the NC. I have one and 16 oz is correct.
Correct! You are referring to the Z5 not the X5. Totally different scope.
Yea you're definitely looking up the wrong scope. The z5 you're talking about & x5 that was asked about here are totally different scopes. The post is about the x5i which is over 30 oz like was posted. The Swarovski scope actually weighs 15.9 oz! I'm not sure I'd take advice from anybody at Christensen !!I've been looking at scopes for awhile now to replace my vx5hd 3x5x56. The nx8 2.5x20x50 was put on my radar by a salesman at eurooptics frowning on my other suggestions. I was looking at the vx6hd 3x18x50, a 4x24x50 ten mile & a Leica amplus 2.5x15x56. After more research and speaking with someone from Christensen arms I started looking at the Steiner h6xi 3x18x50. The person I spoke with said the Steiner & Zeis v6 actually tracked a smidge better than his nightforce & leupold. So I'm between the swaro x5i, the Steiner h6xi & Zeiss v6.
Why's that?I'm not sure I'd take advice from anybody at Christensen !!
Not a fan either of that NF reticle. The Swarovski glass blows away nightforce in my opinion. I hate the nightforce cf2d reticle for hunting. Sold all my nightforces and bought a bunch of x5s. I've never had any issues with tracking in my Swarovskis. If you are mostly taking close shots I'd do a 3.5-18x50 with 4wx reticle.
