I was seriously considering buying a used 3-10 Shv moar illuminated reticle Night Force rifle scope until I came across this in researching it from the Night Force warranty page; "SHV models will maintain waterproof integrity with their protective caps installed". Typically, rifle scopes are either nitrogen or argon gas filled and sealed. How can a Night force scope not be waterproof without the caps on? I've seen other brands that are submersible without caps to 3 meters. This is an almost $1,000 rifle scope. I'm certainly not saying I'm going to go around dropping my scoped rifle in a stream with a scope that just happens to not have the scope caps on. BUT, let's say I have an 600 yd shot on a nice 6x6 bull elk that I have to dial for in the rain. Warranty void!
Also, odd the me is the Night Force models that the whole eyepiece turns with a magnification change.
Just sayin'
