New vortex 4.5-22x50 razor hd lht

Mounted up! Controls are good, turret is very tactile and hashes index nicely. Parallax is 3/4 turn from 25 to Infinity. Weight is right on the money at 21.7oz without the included bikini cover or sunshade. Magnification adjustment is firm but not difficult, cold temps and gloves would benefit from a throw lever.

Anyone that has one of these, how's the reticle look around 10-12 power? Super thin, or can you still read the reticle? Useable at 15-18?
I run all my 5-25 6-24 ffp scopes at 10-11x shooting prs and I feel the reticle is completely useful. The reticle in these scopes is about is right in between thickness of my kahles skmr3 and minox mr4so I'm sure it should be totally useful at you're questioned power.

The reticle is very similar to the EBR-7C. I could go drag that rifle out and get a better idea. Only difference is the crosshair is slightly thicker and the elevation/windage lines don't stick out as far.

A couple of you on this thread have ordered this scope and had for a bit. Anything else to add as far as tracking and your view on glass?
I've only shot it out to 300y. Glass is great, I'd honestly say the edge to edge clarity has a better score than the nx8 as the sweet spot is larger. I wish the reticle was open outside the center dot to 0.2 mil vs 0.1 as it crowds the dot. The NF mil reticles do this too, and I strongly dislike. Depth of field is excellent, at 17x I dialed out the parallax for the 100y target, and there was no parallax present on the 300y target. Eyebox is quite better than the nx8 as well. Low light performance was equal to my mk5hd 5-25x56 pr2-mil that I had next to it for comparison. I don't like the fact I only get 11.5 mil of elevation once zero stop is set, but that's plenty for hunting and steel to 1k yards. Build quality is excellent, very light, turrets are so so, I have several high end optics to compare to and I didn't expect great scores here. I like the locking diopter. Eye relief is huge. All in all, the scope does well at its intended purpose. Also have the 3-15x42 lht. These are good scopes!

Great looking scope but mines heading back to vortex with a frozen magnification ring
That's not what I want to hear. I was just about to order one. This is why I've only owned 1 vortex in my life and only for a few months. Not very good qc for a new product launch. I'm the guy that generally would have your luck with this.

@highdrum how useable is the reticle at 22x? Would you classify it more sized for hunting (thick subtensions) or smaller for more target shooting?

I've had 90% good luck with vortex.
I broke a 3-15lht that was a first generation also so I'm 0/2 with first release lht

That's not very good luck. I feel like we could be twins separated at birth with that luck haha
Did you get the first one replaced and stick with it assuming the second one (or repair) worked?

Mine arrived yesterday. I haven't taken it to the range yet, but I am impressed with the glass. Super crisp/clear and excellent well past legal light.
I was worried out the FFP reticle being hard to see, but it'll be fine for all but the worst light, and then I can always use illumination. The reticle sub tensions become useable at 6x, which will be perfect for predator hunting as I'll just leave it there most of the time.
looking forward to getting it zerod and out to long range next week.
