New StaBall powders

I hope so. Would be nice to have another comparable powder akin to Retumbo. I've been using N570, but sometimes that's hard to find as well.

I've had good results with Retumbo as well but it is almost impossible to find any without paying over $100 per pound. I also heard that Hodgdon will not be selling any Retumbo in 2023 because it was allocated to the government.

I bought 4lbs of retumbo last may i believe. Then bought ramshot magnum. Will have powder monday, my comparison will mainly be magnum vs hd

I've heard so many mix things on the ball powders that there not temp stable some people say they are. I shot ramshot lrt for a bit in a 30 nosler from 50 to 80 degrees and never seen much swings. Now they also didn't sit out long in outside Temps but they were out in it. I've had issues with h1000 in past not holding true to the temp stable.

I'm still experimenting, but N570 seems to be very temp stable. Hoping the same holds true for the Ball HD. I picked up 4 pounds of it to compare to the N570 and H1000. Between the 3 of them, I've got about 15 pounds of "magnum" powder. I want to like all 3. Let's see what happens.

I bought some Staball HD the other day. Meters very nice. I ran it in a new 6.5 PRC build. I ran 59g with the 143 ELD-X for 2831fps. Hodgdon reloading called for a max charge of 60.1g for a velocity of 2945. Both 24" barrrels on their site and my build. Accuracy was very good and the ES was at 31 for 10 rounds. I shot 10 rounds of the 147 ELD-M with 59g as well. They ran 2851 fps which was closer to Hodgdon's results. ES was 35. These were the first 20 rounds out of a new barrel but both bullets were very accurate. Seemed to be a nice smooth powder and I never got close to any pressure. I will run them hotter next trip out to the range. I did like the powder. Easy to clean as well. This is just my first experience with Staball HD. Good shooting.

Sounds promising.
