I have another question for you in regard to A zone. I see that tags are valid for either the A-North-160 or the A-South-110 units. In 160 we can get deer tags over the counter, the past few years they've had more than they give out, after the fires.
Is that true in A-South-110 ??? Can you purchase deer tags over the counter? As you may know, CDFW will let us have 2 per year. Normally I wouldn't think about A-South-110 if I was in Clear Lake all the time, but I am currently spending most of my time in San Jose, which is just about half way between SLO and Clear Lake. I certainly would do it if there was a tag available in 110 that wasn't in 160, but we have tags in 160.
I wish they made the licensing and permit schemes easier for normal folk to understand. Pig is still the best deal. I'm definitely planning to drive down there to hunt pig, since those are valid all year and are for all zones. (not sure if I should start another thread, I hate to derail this new member intro.
)
