Glad to be joining a community of other long range enthusiasts! Been into long range shooting for quite a few years now, mainly using others setups at ranges and pushing my old school 30-06 as far as I could give it's limitations as a stock, shorter barreled gun. Normally shoot out to about 1000M or so, but should be able to shoot further in the near future! Have an elk hunt out west coming up this year with a friend, and it's giving me the excuse to look into building a proper long distance hunting rifle for elk size game, so you'll probably find me absorbing all the information I can and looking around all over the forum in the coming weeks. Looking forward to meeting you wonderful people!

Welcome from western Pa. Nothing wrong with the old 06 for elk but if you want to use the elk hunt for a reason for a new rifle, nothing wrong with that either!
