Again depending how much money you wanna spend…but if you're not looking to break the bank there's no shortage of folks doing absolutely ridiculous things at distance with inexpensive Savage rifles. They're ugly they feel cheap bla bla bla….THEY JUST FLIPPIN' SHOOT!!!!!!

The model 12 series heavy barrel beasts in particular have my attention.

The bergara B14 HMR is another relatively cost-effective solution to the question you raise here. In fact I think it might be the absolute most bang for your buck for what it is and what it costs. Very rigid stock, not all synthetics are created equal as you know, and the bergaras have an aluminum micro-chassis within the synthetic stock that makes them very solid, not the flimsy flexy Tupperware of many cheaper rifles.

Savage 12 or Bergara b14 hmr, and for what you're wanting to do a 6.5 creed makes a ton of sense as a chambering.

Budget, no frills. Any JP Sauer or mauser. For hunting, shooting steel.

Trump money, High end Sauer, for hunting As said above, Accuracy International for everything else.

I wanna get me a Sauer!!!! I actually went ahead and ordered some in for our gunshop I work at, just the Sauer 100 series, not their high end stuff, but I'm so impressed with what I've seen in them so far just need to actually buy one or take a store model out to "demo" it haha. Heck of a rifle. Lot of bang for your buck, and the trigger is just amazing. Zero creep, easily adjustable with an Allen key, no "trigger within a trigger" stuff like everyone and their dog imitating the savage accutrigger. Very smooth action.

I probably will end up buying one next year (gotta finish paying for some guns from this year first! ), the two that really speak to my heart are the Sauer 100 classic hardwood which we have in a .270 win, just a beautiful well balanced ergonomically pleasing traditional rifle, and the Sauer 100 Pantera HS Precision which we have in .308 Winchester. That one has an oversize bolt knob and shorter 20 inch semi-heavy fluted threaded barrel and an upgraded-from-standard stock, an HS Precision fibreglass stock. It feels amazing to shoulder and work the bolt. And between it being a .308, being a Sauer, having a short heavy stiff barrel, and that stiff fibreglass stock, I'll eat my hat if it's not a SHOOTER!

I've owned three of the 100 series. Only have one now! The boat anchor model 100 field shot. But its a serious shooter, just a little pricy for the 100 series.

And they don't just have 1model that's accurate.
Along with having both rifles that are designed for hunting and models designed for competition.
Reasonably priced too.

For a hunting rifle, a Tikka is really hard to beat though!
And one of the smoothest actions you'll find!
