Nice shooting sounds like this one is going to be a real shooter for you.
When I grow up I would like to have Fifty make me a Raptor in .338 Allen mag.
Thanks guys. I'm light in the wallet myself. This setup was about as pretty inexpensive. I spent $850 on the gun. I wanted it in a LH model so it was an extra $200 for Savage's custom shop to build it. I spent $100 on mount and rings. $229 on the scope. $89 on the bipod. I'm going to have to put an adjustable cheek piece ($55) on it, and I want a rear monopod ($50) also. The grand total $1373 when finished. Not too bad, right?
That 175 SMK is a good bullet, I shoot it in my 308. With your 300 WM you can shoot it, but you will also do well with heavier bullets. The 180's have a little lower BC than the 175, but jump to the 190 or 200 and they will have .533 and .565 respectfully. Either one would probably do well, I think if it were me I would be more inclined to try the 190. That's a great weight in the WM.

I hope this pic works. I'll take pics of the gun when it's finished, Tank. I'm starting to reload soon. I've got brass, primers and powder. I was thinking about using 168 or 175 grain SMKs, any opinions? Any other bullet ideas for paper punching? Load, if you don't mind me asking, what did you pay for your custom Savage?

What load were you using when you shot that group?
