New Bill Criminalizing Private Gun Sales

You guys sure about calling reps and sending letters is going to do something? I mean even votes don't really mean anything for the presidential elections. CA is probably the most un-represented state in all the 50. Like the other guy said the majority live on the coast but all the desert rats and the NorCal mountain people are fine with guns, as well as lean conservative but the those voices aren't heard because of a little things like electoral college.

I can certainly understand the frustration felt by conservatives with the "liberal, progressive agenda." Believe me when I say it bothers the hell out of me too. But you can't talk about "doing what's best for the country" in one breath and "dividing it in two" in the next. Our enemies, namely Russia and China, would love to see America split in two. Divided they conquer! Think it all the way through and I believe we have to find a better solution.

Well then whatever happens, happens. I mean seriously the 2nd ammendment was definitely designed to defend against tyranny, however if you fight you are a domestic terrorist and if you don't well, rights get taken away and you become one I consider to start with a p and rhymes with wussy. So the fight is just a big legal battle which interpretation is subject to change under political pressure the next time some idiot commits a heinous mass murder.
Gun control is not about guns.
Some people in charge just want to feel needed.

Cars accidents kill more women and children per year in half the country then guns do, but no one wants regulations on that.

No one thinks that someone with a little knowledge of how to be dangerous can go buy some bulk icepacks from and take the ammonium nitrate out of them and ball mill some aluminum powder to do some mass bombings. You can order that **** on amazon for god sake.

Disclaimer* Don't play with explosives. Don't try to make a cap and don't try what you see on the internet. You'll lose your fingers or your life and I'll laugh at you. Don't be an idiot, these are examples of public safety issues that don't get a second look due to political pressure.

I understand your concern. I used to think we should go to a strictly vote count. I mean, in the current system our vote doesn't necessarily mean anything- much like you describe.

But then I started looking at how our elections actually work, and why the Founding Fathers set it up the way they did.

What I found was that the founders of this Nation were afraid of any one group making laws that only benefited them and their kind, without regard for the Nation as a whole.

An example would be the City people "ruling" the Country folk because their are more people in the city.

From what I read, that is why they set up our electoral system the way they did- so that it wasn't a "mob rule" situation.

Unfortunately, the states didn't follow suit, and the result is that in some states mob rule IS the rule.

I won't play devils advocate, I play the devil himself and stir this pot:

As usual, the issue seem to be railroaded by extremes from both sides, which end up being motivated by money. We all know this but that is what seems like we cannot overcome with votes alone, this money influence. This is clearly legislation that is wrong, but when opposed by a group that refuses to do ANYTHING about public safety and refuses to see the completely different situation in our current government, instead of the British tyranny that existed when our forefathers put in place a standing army, then a group like the NRA makes themselves irrelevant. I can't single them out, as any special interest group is just that and until we flush the toilet of lobbyists, the toilet ain't flushed.

Blah blah blah about this law... I'm going to continue to openly give my firearms to family members or sell them to friends. The reason I can is that the tyranny that exists in peoples minds, is just that. That I bought more guns, easily, during the Obama admin, than ever before, is proof.

For federal elections.....One State....One Vote....NO ELECTORAL....
For in State elections....One County....One Vote.....

Only way to make all districts have a say...
Too many people that votes no longer count...
And it still says in the Constitution only "property owners"...
I wonder what would come down to all those people living in rental apartments and house not getting to vote......live on the street..no vote....
No picture ID..no vote....hospitals require photo ID...

From what I understand, the bill even forbids loaning a firearm to a family member at the range or on a hunting trip. Guess kids won't be able to learn to shoot until they are adults and can own their own guns???? Don't think that will fly. Looks like we will have a whole new group of Felons that need a whole new Federal Branch to catch. Just look at all the jobs they will create!!

Been that way in NY for several years unfortunately...

I wish Upstate NY could secede from the city/long island... the political leanings and culture are so much different... I love the mountains and weather of upstate NY but I hate the taxes/politics/restrictive laws I have to deal with that all started in the city.

Here in California, just about everything "guns" related is illegal. There is a website www.calguns.net where many of our laws are discussed in great detail. We have attorneys working on these issues. Nobody can tell you what is legal or illegal in California anymore, it's so complicated. Bottom line, the "powers" here in California don't want armed citizens. They have deliberately created very complicated laws and regulations to entrap ordinary citizens so they can take away our civil right to own.

Meanwhile, California is releasing thousands of really bad people from prisons and ignoring other crimes in the name of "sanctuary". What these leftists are doing is evil and not isolated to just California.
Criminals prefer unarmed people. It's just like a predator in the wild looking for its pray. If it can find a weakness it will exploit it, untell it consumes it pray. We need to protect our selves from these vicious predators. Be the strong that save the weak. There is strenth in numbers. It help to have a pair of horns, and some brass balls if you knows what I mean. Defend the weak and God will step in to defend us.

So it seems this bill is getting worse. One interpretation on its effects from the NRA-ILA states:
"Both bills would make it a crime, subject to certain exceptions, to simply hand a firearm to another person. Anytime gun owners carry out this simple act, they would potentially be exposing themselves to criminal penalties. While the bills do create some exceptions, they are overly complicated and create many traps for unwary gun owners. Accidental violations of these complicated provisions are not excused under the proposed legislation."

What is a threat to the US Constitution and the independent nation that our founding fathers created?

Despite our founding father's near-universal fear of a standing army, our politicians spent over 600 Billion per year on projecting "full spectrum dominance" force around the world through "defense" spending last year; this is hundreds of billions more than our nearest rival, China. Puny Russia spent 66 billion - thats a little less than Saudi Arabia, and a little more than India. Russia isn't conquering anything. They had a hard enough time projecting force next door into Syria. The don't have the manpower, they dont have the money, and they dont have enough rowboats to get their troops here to conquer us.

It's too bad the global media insists that new, poor, backward Russia is the enemy (and that Donald Trump is somehow in cahoots with them), but yet for years the same leftist, globalist media was so enamored of the old, evil, expansionist soviet union. I wonder why. Globalists and International (bolshevik) socialists sharing common goals? Unthinkable!

The information revolution is like the Eurasia/Oceania subterfuge from 1984. Make the population concentrate on an imaginary threat while the real threat rules you and dictates your life.

Meanwhile the globalist, pro-international socialist, pro-totalitarian, anti-American, indoctrinated left wing segment of the population is mainstreamed and presented as "moderate" and normal versus the "radical" conservatives/ gun owners/ Christians.

So I guess I am more concerned about radical socialists in power than I am about drunken Russians floating around the Atlantic in a rowboat.
