For plinking and Target practicing I like the Lee molds, tumble lubes and ALux. It needs to have a gas check if you're going to push it fast. I shoot cast bullets in all my old Mausers. Happy casting

I've shot gas checked in my 22-250. And hot 44 and 45s. Like 454 Cassul and 460 S&W. Have to look a 30 cal.

Do you heat treat your 22 caliber bullets

I use linotype mixed in with lead to harden then. With a gas check. Lube die. Ive never heat treated nor know how to do it ? I've been casting bullets since I was a kid. Dont do it often. Cast a lot for a few calibers and im good for years. How do you heat treat them ? In water ?

I use 75% wheel weights 25% Magnum shot. The Magnum shot has the Arsenic content you're looking for. You quench them after casting as normal. Pre-heat your oven to 455 degrees and place the bullets in there for an hour and a half .it helps to put them in a screen basket. Dissolve half a bag of ice in your sink when they come out after an hour or so put them immediately in the ice cold water then straight to a towel to dry and freeze them in the freezer for 2 days. Hardness should be somewhere around 23 to 24. I've made some as hard as 29 for a thirty-ought-six. 85 grain cash check got 2900 out of those.

That's a tough question. Depends on what you want to do with it I like heavy for caliber 200 grain gas check. have you shot unique under cast bullets yet

Not with Springfield but maybe 308, predator hunt maybe. Yes I have used unique. Especially in pistols . I can't remember what I used in 22-250.

I have so much invested in 300 Rum and been shooting it so long that I'm happy with it and don't want to change. I have a 300 Win mag and 7 Rem mag that like also. If I had the money I'd be buying 338 rum and Lapua for sure and many others !

Same here. My 7STW and 264 mag work well for my current hunting areas. If I hunted an area were I had potential shots over 800yds I might invest in a fast 338.

I've got a 300 rum a 375 rum and a 375 Ruger .I can't see the need of a 338 and really do believe they're overrated, just my opinion. Sorry fellas. I know the new kid just kicked the Hornet's Nest
