Need some thoughts

So the last Part of my new build Savage short action showed up yesterday.

The Recoil lug on the Barrel is 0.247 thick the lug opening in the stock is 0.211 should I open up the lug box on the stock?

Any thoughts would be a Big help.

You will have to open up the lug inlet no matter what because you can't assemble the barreled action in the stock without removing 0.036" minimum of that material. The lug just won't fit.

Remember to tape the bottom, sides and front of the lug before bedding.

Or, you could get a thinner lug.
