NEED LOADS for 30-378 Accumark

Howdy all, picked up a used Accumark 26" barrel. I have never had one of these, I did install an Area 419 muzzle brake and shot a couple factory 220 Hornady, WoW what a rush, this thing is Awesome. Bullets I want to try are 185 Juggernaut and 215 Hybrid. Powders I have, 50 Bmg, Us 869, LRT, Rl- 25and26, Retumbo, H-1000. Greatly appreciate all help. Thanks.
I don't have ton a ton of experience with US 869 but I hear good things about it concerning velocity and pressure. The others I do and my nod would be H1000 for the 180's to the 220's. H1000 is very temp stable and the cleanest burning of the ones you have on hand in my experience. I've run it now in over a dozen 30-378's for the past twenty years or so. Before then I ran H5010 for the heavies. I also run (if at all possible) a middle node well under max and usually get exceptional brass life and accuracy.
Here's a 5 shot group at 100 and 8 shot group 300 with the 181 Hammer Hunters. 102.5 H1000, COAL 3.770, Fed 215's and Weatherby brass fired 11X running at 3260.

I could push it a little harder but why?

WOW. Your the Best Brother, holy moly with all this info, I might burn the barrel in a month. Thank You Very Much. All that has replied, Thank You. Have a great day. 😁👍

Is that you on the drag bike? I was the hot Rice bike person for years. Nothing like a bike for the adrenaline rush. My dragster was almost boring to drive. But bikes always make you work! After being track champ a few years and teaching the drag bike school I was hired to drive a 1350 cc long wheel base turbo bike. nitrogen shifted with ignition cut out. It was as fast as the Prostock bikes at the time.

Be safe.

I was mostly a paper puncher with my 30-378. If you look at the above Quick loads you will see the column for % of powder burned. 26 inches doesn't use up the slowest powders. That's why my barrels were 28 and 30 and a two inch brake making them really long.

You can find powder burn temps on line. 869 is more barrel friendly, but you are talking 400 - 500 rounds at most. The local range has metal roofs over the cement and steel shooting benches. The roof was terrible for noise with muzzle brakes. So if I took my 30-378 or my 458 win mag I would sit way away from everyone at the far end.

People would come down to see what I was shooting! :)

If it ain't broke don't fix it right?!?!?
I just ordered some 174. Hammers to try out, Ima gonna see if I can get a safe 3500fps. out of em, talk about an elk laser!!! Speaking of elk I was up at one of low elevation spots for coyote with my big 30 yesterday morning slinging 151 gr. Hammers @ 3600 wanting to smoke a yote but got so caught up counting bulls I didn't make a stand for a couple hours later and by then the wind was getting it so I got outta the weather and headed back to the house... When I smoke a yote with that load I'll post photos, It's like my .220 swift on STEROIDS!!!!

WOW, I have 200 gr ELD-X, maybe a little more weight and 869 would be better. I have Norma brass and Hornady. The 196 hammer, the 10 twist is okay? Thanks for your advice. 👍
I wouldn't recommend it. The 181's are pushing it and stabilize in most 1/10's but not all. That's why they they offer the 180 now. If you choose to go with Hammers, the old thinking of needing more weight for performance doesn't apply. The 180's or the 181's are more than adequate out to 900ish out of the 30-378. If your objective is to push it beyond that, others may be better suited.

I have tried 869 7828 and h1000 rl25 3400 easy with 30 378 I get more than that with 300 rum with 180 grain bullet
No replacement for displacement the big 30 will out perform in every weight bullet W/bbl. length being equal, same thig as a Rem 6mm and a Win .243, 426 hemi and a 396 Chevy, simple physics..

No doubt and have done to same. Components suffer greatly when doing so and to each his own. The 300 RUM and the 30-378 are nearly twins when running bullets under 200 grains. When you get into the 220's and up the 30-378 will give you a little more. I load for three 300 RUMS and when doing ladder test they've all been 50 to as much as 100fps slower that the 30-378 when hitting pressure. Again, I will always choose a middle node if at all possible to reduce wear and tear. In more younger days that wasn't always the case as I've destroyed two Weatherby actions.

Howdy, Yes that is me on my hand built GS1100E 82 model with 1260 kit, race fuel only, bracket racing, 8:90 class 155mph, that was through the 90's . Sold it and bought more guns. Little safer. Won championships 2 yrs in a row 94&95. I kept mine a small tire with extended swingarm, you want to go for a Wild ride, get on a small tire, launch off the starting line with a 2 step at 10000.rpm and go through the finish line in 5th gear at 12000rpm at 155 MPH. I hand built this myself, that's where Darkside comes from. A good friend of mine gave me that name, the first time he seen me race.

Have a few 30's 300 Wby Mag- 300 Win Mag - & 30-378 Wby Mag. Am now using Nosler 180 gr accubond's , 180 gr Ballistic silvertip for the 30-378 Wby and boy they work just fine, if need anything larger will go to the 338 Win or 338 Lapua with 210 gr Nosler Partitions +or to the 35's-375's cal guns. Have used RL22-H1000-7828 - 24N41 - 870 now back at H50BMG ( left over from my 50BMG days ) works wonders for me. Keeps me in the 3200 fps range with accuracy out to 500 yards for me now- eyes starting to go at this young age. Sucks when one gets younger !!!!!!!! Now find myself going back to the 280's and 7mm Rem mag and the 30-30 Win 94 still works wonders.
Guy's enjoy while you can SHOOT STRAIGHT & OFTEN.
