Name that Nikon!

Bought a 270 M700 BDL from pawn shop. Gun was traced back to 1997 manufacturing date. It came with a Nikon 4-12x44 w/AO, but has no other markings expect made in Japan engraved on the bottom. It has nikons version of duplex cross hairs. Any info would be great where I may could find the model

I'd just go with that. A Nikon made in Japan has to be a good product. I have a Nikon FA camera I bought in Fall 1985; made in Japan. It's a 35mm machine so no film nor processing for it today but I bought it with my own blood, sweat and tears in the summer heat. I earned it, and I'll own it forever...
