My son just killed a buck down in Mexico and was talking to a gentleman that is on the lease with him that has hunted a lot around the world . He told him the Barnes Bullets were designed for deep Penetration for African Game. Which probably is right and justly so because over there you have got to have deep penetration.
I like barnes bullets but I am gonna try the Berger hunting bullets one of these days too.I have everything loaded with Nosler BT right now, I went ahead and pulled the Barnes out and replaced them .

Found the same thing using a Barnes Tac-x in .458 caliber tissue damage was far less than expected. I bored a nice hole for sure but damage around surrounding tissue was minimal.

I have noticed on several websites that sell reloading supplies they all seem to have Barnes bullets avialable ,but Nosler, Berger and some others are sold out .
kinda makes you wonder why ?
