My son was able to pick up a great tag this year in Colorado and was able to shoot his first buck. He used my 6.5 PRC and took a great shot dropping the buck in his tracks! Super proud dad moment!

Congrats looks like he had a great teacher!

Awesome buck, congrats! Tell us more about HIS rifle and load.

He was using my 6.5 PRC that I put together a couple years ago. I took my stock Tikka 270 WSM and converted it to the 6.5 PRC, carbon six 24" 1:7.5 twist, JCS stock. I'm using Lapua brass, 56.4 grains of N565, 210M primer and it's pushing the 156 EOL's at 2950 FPS. I just finished doing the same thing to a 7mm-08 that wasn't ready yet for him to use. He is a natural shooter and does really good, I think I was more nervous than he was when he made the shot. The sage brush did not present a good prone shot so he had to shoot off the tripod and he did great, 350 yards and put it right behind the shoulder. Thanks for all the kind words.
