Someone got defensive real fast. The whole bases (look it up) for the 338 Norma was to have better performance using the 300 Grain pills to outperform the 338 Lapua using the same 300 grain pills... So you are trying to prove me wrong because I stated it out shines the Lapua past 1,500 yards or meters... Prove to me it doesn't then... where's the data to say otherwise, you say you don't want to dispute but yet you are without the data you in return are asking for?... confusing yes.You are the person "waveslayer" that stated "The Norma was built around the 300 gr bullet and shines over the Lapua past 1500 yards.
so you post your DATA!
Don't ask me for data to dispute - I am not doing the compression - You are the one making the statement!
I personally think all the "Good Design 338s are GREAT for LR Hunting.
It is just that there ae so may cartridges that are basicall the same. Just that different manufactures want to get into the game.
Look at all the Needmores!!!! They are basically the same cartridges as the needmores. It is just that Hornady and Creedmore got together and offered a 1:8 twist in a 6.5. They blew out the .260 Winchester with a 1:9 twist in rifles and then the Snowball just kept rolling. Now you have all the Needmores from 6mm, 25, 6.5 and a big following in PRS.
The .308 Winchester Case has got to be one of the "BEST & USED" cases for Hunting or Military in the 21st & 22 nd Centry.
Name me another "Better" Cartridge Case for Hunting, Target, and Military that is being Modified in different calibers to this Date in History!!!
NONE Military Big Mag
OK beside the 300 WM, 338 LM
.308 is great... I'd take my 7.82 Warbird over the .308 for hunting, but that's me. There are a ton of similar calibers out there, it's what grows the sport and technology. This drive has driven the sport to a whole new level and the RD coming from it is impressive. Random thought, why did Sig design the new SAW using the 338 Norma over the Lapua? That I am not sure of, Norma influencing that decision?...
I'll name the 300 Norma using the 215's if you want me to name another...
