I've used several big name brakes. Won't mention them but they're 5-6 times the price of Ross's brakes. Believe me, Ross Brakes equally OR outperform most of those others. 37.00 and even turned to diameter you prefer and shipped. That's truly a steal. I'd buy one for every gun I wanted a brake on. His brakes are all I buy right now. Wish he built a big 5 port but his 4 port 1.0" diameter makes my 338 lapua improved feel like my 308s.That's what I did ...
I use Ross Schuler side & top port brakes ... but ... I think he may have recently retired/sold his equipment to someone else who may or may not still be making the brakes.
Last ones I bought were $37 each ... shipped. Far better than their price would suggest but I don't know how they would compare to the high dollar stuff from aliens and unmarried parents

Ross sold his business to Kelly Driesel of Kuna, Idaho. No info on new owner/operation.That's what I did ...

Well remove the brake and shoot it without the brake. Then you'll know how much it reduces the recoil. I shoot my 338 lapua improved with 300s without the brake and believe me, it makes a huge difference. I can't shoot it much more than 15 shots before it's no fun anymore without the brake. I'm building a 30 Sherman Mag also and it WILL wear a Ross brake.I recently purchased one of his 4 ports in 30 cal. It was purchased specifically for the 30 Sherman Magnum I'm building. I fired the very first round out of it last night for fireforming. 178g over 78g of H4831sc in a native 300PRC case ... I was so tightened up for the first shot expecting an angry mule to wallop me that I couldn't even tell you what it actually DID feel like. But, I'd guess LESS than my 20" tactical 308 (unbraked) ...
Can't say how much of the "light" recoil was due to the weight of the rifle (14-14.5 lbs) and how much was due to the 4 port Ross brake but it was surprisingly effective.
I've used his 3 port 30 cal brakes on 6.5 creedmoors and they are very light recoilers set up that way.
Kelly worked under Ross in Ross' business and simply took the business over. Same email address as Ross had. Same service and same product. No worries.Ross sold his business to Kelly Driesel of Kuna, Idaho. No info on new owner/operation.
