More powder lately, but the prices! šŸ˜®

The entire industries profits are 10 fold from just 4 years ago...does anyone think...they want to go back...my guess...is.... NOPE! Prices will be WHATEVER THE MARKET CAN BEAR! ( and do we think any employee of a powder, projectile, casing company or primer manufacturer....has gotten a dollar an hour raise!)

Wouldn't it be a great thing if D. JR. and Eric Trump (shooters) got involved in forming a worthwhile beurocracy to look into benefits for U. S. shooters hunters and all firearms related activities. Shooting used to be a national pastime accompanied by the Ladies and Men dresses in their Sunday best, akin to an ice cream social. Remember the days when an NRA Sticker was seen on cars and many trucks with gun racks in the rear window? At age 10 I transported my Marlin model 57 lever .22 on board a greyhound bus with the barrel sticking out of my suitcase, heading to a friend's house, no one got excited at all.
Don jr and an associate did an interview at the shot show in regards to what you are talking about. It's well worth checking it out. It's on Colion Noir's YouTube page.

It doesn't matter what you like to do,
Shooting/hunting, fishing, golf, strip bars, basically everything fun.
it all cost money and nothing is getting cheaper. ;)

I think it is safe to say the Americans have taken a huge hit in the wallet the past 4 or 5 years. Inflation has crippled us. How many cost of living increases do you think we will need just to catch back up to where we were and that's assuming that inflation slows to something more reasonable.

I get what I need from Midsouth Shooter. They always have great prices and fast delivery on powders.
I've ordered from them in the past, when Powder Valley is out of stock. I have also ordred from Natchez, and for some reason Grafs tends to have good supply of bullets. I typically only buy from Powder Valley or Midsouth when I need to hazmat, which I haven't done for a number of years. By going through hazmat, gives the feds a way to track me. I'm not doing anything wrong, but don't need anyone knocking on the door with arms. Call me old fashioned...

I am heading to the grocery store today. I will most likely spend an amount equal to 8lbs of powder on this trip. I also am looking for a vehicle for my wife. Retirement seemed like a good idea a few years ago. Not so much now.
Want some reloader 16, but not gonna pay what they want. Will make what I have work.

Have 25 years in with Ford..my wife tells me they will offer some early retirement soon, and your gonna take it. I laugh. Shes on a cruise atm, says she needs to move from Ky to where sand and palm trees are. I tell her soon as the kids are through school and the house is paid off, and there are no more huricanes and inflation is old news.

be fortunate to buy locally as i always have to pay hazmat + shipping, so buying in bulk (30-50#) helps me out to bring price down. either this summer i need to do road trips to find farm equipment from tx (including ok, ne, ia and mo)- co- wy- mt- sd- mn maybe across to oh.
Don't look forward to buying components in Colorado. Liberal voters have saddled us with an additional 6.5% tax on the sale of guns, ammo, and I am told reloading components beginning April 1. Fortunately, I live close enough to Wyoming to take my business out of state.

their stupid firearm related taxes doesn't solve anything as they're looking for "scapegoat" ways

Post number 41- taxes in co on guns/related will be up to 25% now

We've all been seeing the prices going up and up and up...and I do see more powder at Sportsman's Warehouse in my area, yet the prices are crazy stupid.

Varget for $67/lb. Most Hodgdon is $65/lb...somehow I think I'm supposed to be happy about that. Since we can buy components over the counter in CA, I'm a sucker when I see powder I can use. I see H1000 for $66/lb. I admit, I'm a reloading components hoarder.

I honestly never thought I would see the day when Hodgdon costs more than Vitavori...but Sportsman's Warehouse is selling N570 for $65/lb. šŸ¤”
I think midsouth is running a hazmat free promo right now. If I recall the varget is a little cheaper there
