With my 338/378 Weatherby Magnum I took my elk at 1730 yards the second day of Colorado's three season. 6 shots off with 5 of the 6 were vitals.

He was standing still for all the shots. Moved 30 yards left to right up the bluff till he fell with last shot out of site. Elk fell and rolled about 10 yards to a tree.I guess this is the first welcome to the forum. 1730 is a long poke especially with 5 out of six hitting the vitals. Please post more details for us anti-Facebook folk. Assuming he just stood there and absorbed the hits. If he was moving, I'm going to be either be amazed or skeptical.
