Meplat Uniformer?

The Lapua 100 gr. work great! They group about 0.75" @ 100 yds. with no load development. I shot one chuck @ 293 yds. and one @ 149 yds. the terminal performance is awesome! I'm using 53 gr. of H335.

Does anyone have any experience with meplat uniformers? Is it possible to take a .308" 110 gr. V-Max, pull the tip out (so it's about 107 gr.), and trim the meplat until it's about 100 gr.? I live in NJ and can't shoot chucks with bullets over 100 gr. in a 308 win.

better yet would be to get ahold Randy Robinate of BIB Bullets. I think he sells a 100 grain bullet that would make a 110 grain Hornaday anything junk.
