Magnum AR Project

Sorry for the late reply.

@ARlife4me the bolts I get from KAK. I just got my new CNC mill about a week ago, (another reason for my absence), so I'm debating on making my own bolts, should help with getting a better grip on quality control on my end.

@Earnhardt the barrel is a carbon fiber X-Caliber barrel. You are correct on posts 187 and 191. That is one of my rifles and it is equipped with a carbon fiber barrel. The rifle in post 191 was for a local guy, it has a rail on top the handguard, but is otherwise identical to the one in post 187.

have you or are you considering other lengths than 22"? gas port change with barrel length which is usually larger the further the gas port is located. trying to get x-cal to do a +3 or +4 for their 24-28" barrels might not happen? i wish i could get them to do a 28-30" w/+4 gas as so to use lighter weight buffer and carrier. that'll translate into less felt recoil. glad you're getting more machines to help do more work! best to you and your family! if you could get the gas tubes for the +3 and 4 i have a way to do testing (more like devised) to have 1 barrel w/multiple ports.

You did ask him, you literally quoted ARlife4me in your question. There is no reason for this behavior.
oh well! i have a lot worse people living next door to me. forums are easy! i replied because he's been busy and sometimes isn't on here for a while?

Because you asked him, you literally quoted ARlife4me in your question. There is no reason for this behavior.
You are mistaken…

Read post #202…I clearly asked Masczek the question…since this is HIS thread, about HIS barrels, and HIS new AICS lowers.

In post #203 ARlife, incorrectly responds to the question…a question I did not ask him…
He stated the barrel was SS, which it clearly is not.

It is a CF barrel bought through X-Caliber barrels…answered by…Masczek.

Thanks

Ok.

Reading comprehension bro...

Look at the numerical order of the posts.

You are selectively choosing posts that support your view.

The post you are viewing is #207, BUT the first question I asked was post #202, to Masczek...the OP of this thread, and the poster of the pics.

I should have been more clear In post #207, but I am basically asking AR life, who's pics are in posts #187/#191 (I already knew it was Masczek), and why is HE answering the questions I am asking when the pics in #187 and #191 and clearly posted by Masczek...

The bottom line is this...this was, and is continuing to be a Thread Hijack, by some who is not Masczek...

I asked the question... and Masczek answered...

Are we done?

Will a mod PLEASE delete all these posts NOT related to Masczek's thread?

Sorry, not sure how I missed this. I've built a 24" 6.5 PRC and got the gas port dialed in. The gas port changes in size about a .001"-.002" for every inch of barrel length. I don't plan on doing a +3 or +4, you'd have to go up to at least a 17" handguard to cover the gas block (personally I think a 15" handguard is as long as you want to go anyway). The +2 system is working pretty well up to a 24" barrel. With the adjustable gas block, and the different buffer weights available, there's plenty of room for adjustment depending on the type bullet one chooses.

my reasoning for the longer gas system is that you CAN have less recoil felt or not (with a good gas port size) going further out by using a lighter bcg and buffer (best to keep recoil spring with standard to +10 to ensure full battery.
