Rifle began as a Dan Glover built 300 Win Mag then rebarreled to a 338 Edge by Dallas Lane. Received from Dallas May of 2024.
Original Build
Defiance Tactical Long Magnum Action.
Trigger Tech Diamond.
M5 Bottom Metal.
Game Warden Adjustable Stock w/ 2 flush cups left side, sling/Harris Bipod stud fore end.
28.5" Hart Spiral Fluted Sendero contour steel barrel 5/8×24 thread w/ timed Terminator Muzzel Brake.
If familiar with Dan's work you'll know it is a well built accurate rifle. Shot a 215 Berger w/ H1000 into one hole but this was about that time that everything became scarce so made a 225 ELDM load w/ N565 a 2875fps accurate load to plink with.
Fast forward to 2023 and wanted a short barrel 338 Edge so took the barrel off and sent the action and stock to Dallas Lane for a rebarrel. Ingredients of the rebuild are shown below.
This Edge is by far the most accurate magnum rifle I've ever had. The only reason for selling is I committed to have him build me another for some reason. Lol.
Besides the build itself here is where the rifle stands.
12.5 lbs scoped (NX8) and suppressed with 338 Ultra.
52 rounds fired. SLOWLY
Meticulous barrel break in according to Benchmark barrels' instructions. (Hart Barrel break in done the same way).
No brake but muzzle thread protector included.
12" Henderson Rail.
Stock can accomidate any combination of Arca and Picatinny rails.
Shoots 225 ELD 3142fps w/ H1000.
100 pieces of ADG brass neck turned. 52 shot and 48 new.
1 piece of brass made into a modified case.
Current load provided but may change as barrel speeds.
300WM barrel described above w/ brake and approx 350 to 400 rounds fired.
48 pieces of brass with 4 loaded rounds 225ELDMs and n565
One modified case.
So you might say this is a switch barrel rifle. I have NOT removed the Edge barrel to shoot the Win Mag barrel.
I can include a Defiance Action wrench and ARC 300MM Rings for appropriate price if needed.
Let me add that shooting this rifle with Suppressor is a pleasure whether off a bipod, tripod or shooting sticks. Very manageable recoil.
