Hey y'all,

I have a Milspec 5r Gen 2 in 260 with a triggertech that bought new last year that has maybe 80 rounds through it, and a Sendero SFII in 25-06 that has maybe 150 rounds through it and isn't even wearing a scope right now...its been sitting in the back of the safe for the last few years. I am thinking about selling both and buying a 6.5 prc in a seekins havak or christensen ridgeline, or browning LR mcmillan, or maybe a 6.5x284norma. The 260 and 25-06 are both tack drivers. I am thinking I would shoot the PRC more and its kind of middle ground between the two of them. What would you guys do?

These are the only 6.5 and .257 calibers I own. I do have several smaller and larger than both of these, so I would like to fill the same GAP. Also, the gun will be used more for hunting than anything else.
I would personally go with the 65 284 Norma because I've been shooting on for five years and I love it

I have a 260 Rem with 27" Krieger Barrel 140 grain Berger's 3030 FPS. I bought this new in 1997 then had the action trued and barrel Installed. It still holds a 5 shot 1/2" group at 700 yards. So it's plenty accurate. I took a 290 lb hog a couple years ago at 997 yards. So it has plenty of power. I have a 300 WM, 6.5 Creedmoor, 7mag, a few different ARs 7.62 x 54R 22-250,220 Swift, 243. Every time I go shooting or hunting the 260 always goes. I take the other guns sometimes it's just that the 260 has never let me down. I've taken coyotes just under 1400 yards. I've taken deer, elk, with it as well. Good luck on your discussion.

If your shooting consistent 1/2 inch groups at 700 yards you can be the world record holder at every 1000 yd range in the world. Or do you mean 1/2 moa? Shep

I didn't even catch that. My brain filled in 1/2 MOA. 3.5 inches at 700 is still pretty dang impressive.

View attachment 146430 View attachment 146430 the white target is 12" square. That's 3 hits at 1100 yards. Look just below the white target in the left hand corner. That's 4 shots at over a mile. I did this in Brawley California in the desert with my family.
I have a video on YouTube. " SWG long range shooting " I was shooting a Pistol at 400 yards red dot sight. I'm not a good camera man, but It was well over 100 degrees out that day. Lots of heatwaves. I recorded my 1100 yards shot and my shots over a mile but the heat was so hot the cameras would over heat. I did the best I could. I never felt I was a good enough shot to compete cause I alway hear people 10 shots less than 4". At 1000 yards. So I just do my own thang and keep trying to out shoot myself.

They don't shoot a lot of 4 inch groups at Williamsport. 5 inches all yr would win the year. I shot one group in the 3"s with my 6.5 creed. You should at least go to the world open and the championship match. Big prize tables.

Thank you for sharing that info. I used to shoot at TacPro in Mingus Tx. I was there with my GF and my pop. This other guy was there with a bunch of his friends all dressed up in camo saying they were Ranger snipers. I thought it would be cool to shoot with them. It got a little out of hand to say the least. I really like that place. The staff is awesome. But dang it. Don't ever outshoot a bunch of so claimed Ranger Snipers. I can't stand Posers!!!

Great shooting with your Creedmoor.
