Looking for a cow elk hunt for my 15 year old daughters first hunt. We will be in CO from the 18th of December until the 29th. I know its a long shot on such short notice. Any ideas?

Thanks,

Kris

I'd check for online outfitters or Craigslist for private land hunting opportunities. There are a few there now.

I think at this point i time, your only option would be a landowner/outfitter tag--make sure your daughter has a transferable hunter safety course too . Like you said, probably a long shot but someone on here might have a lead you never know

might also help to know what part of CO you will be in --or if you are willing to drive anywhere then that would be good to know also

I have a connection with a landowner that does depredation hunts on his Ranch, cow only. His Ranch is in Antonito. Not sure about the time frame, but if you are interested PM me and I will give you his #

I appreciate all of your reply's, Laelkhunter I will check in with your contact. My daughter has never wanted to go before until I got back this year from our annual guys hunt. I'm excited that she is interested so trying to make it happen on short notice!!
does she have a hunters safety class/ certification? if not you need to get one done pronto

Sounds good, and like cohunt suggested get her Hunter Ed card taken care of. This time of year the classes are usually booked up well ahead of time.

I'm looking at a late season cow elk hunt for next year. It will be on a private ranch in Utah. Cant afford a Bull hunt but I want the experience of a "real" Mountain hunt.
I could kill a nice cow elk here in Texas Hill Country where I hunt axis and whitetails, just not the same.
Cost is $2200, meals, lodging included. The real extra expense is air fare and getting meat shipped to me.

I responded to quite a few PM's regarding contact info for the Cow Elk depredation hunt in Colorado. If any of you can post what your results were when you contacted the Ranch owner, please post here if the Ranch owner does or does not have any available. I don't want to continue giving out the info if nothing is available. Thanks

He has not returned any voicemails, so my guess right now is that he does not have availability.
