I use blue loktite on all screws and torque the base screws to 20in/lbs and cap screws to 15in/lbs.

depends on the barrel shank length and the contour. I stand by my recommendations

That is a Remington Magnum contour +60thou dia as I needed a little more meat at the muzzle end for a brake. Lows would not suit a Sendero type barrel, but that is not the kind of barrel I am going to hike many miles with before taking a single shot.

The torque numbers are good, but blue loctite 242 is both unecessary and the wrong product to use on screws that small. If you must use loctite on the screws of scope rings and bases, the 222 product (usually known as purple loctite).
