Little bubbles in my Vortex Viper PST scope

So I have had this Viper PST 4-16 x 50 scope for about a month. Put it up on my Savage 10fcp-sr 308. It was shooting awesome for about 30 rounds. On my 31st round, water droplets or what appeared to be little bubbles are now in focus with my reticle..

I'm thinking somehow moisture got inside the scope. At this point there are about 5 bubbles. I take another shot and they all multiply. I look the scope over, everything seems to be fine. I take the scope off my rifle and shake it a bit to see if I can get the water droplets to move. None of them do.. It looks as if 2 pieces of glass that were glued together are starting to separate and there are little air bubbles in the separation.

Has anyone ever seen this? I am going to try and upload some pics.

Well this is the 2nd Vortex I've had to send back. First the Razor HD, now this one. Guess ill have to go buy something else in time for deer season. Probably not going to be a Vortex..

What scopes has anyone else had minimal problems with? I'm thinking Leupold, NF, or Swarovski.... Anyone had issues with any of these? Thanks guys.

Interesting, I have 6 Vortex scopes and never had issue one with any of them. I have Leupy's too. No issue. I have Burris...no issue. Had aTasco once and the glass fell out...big issue.

You seem to be a minority.

I'm sure there are others but bottom line is it's a complex optical instrument, assembled by humans. Crap happens.

Deer season is......now.

I know! Deer season for me starts in 2 weeks. I doubt that's enough time for Vortex to get me a new scope, or mine fixed, and returned to me. Ughh!! Well looks like Ill be calling Vortex tomorrow.

Can you hit what you're aiming at? If so, use what you've got and send your bubbly scope back to Vortex after you kill your deer.

Not like a whitetail will be a long ways out (at least around here). For years I used Iron sights (and still do I might add).

I've had times where a baseball bat would be better than a rifle......:D

I just went to optics to improve my old tired eyes. I'm over 60 and my eyes have seen alot, both good and bad.

At least using it, you'll see if it gets worse... or better...:)

Either way, if it was me, I'd send it back in the end.....

AWE....He's over 60 and cant see well. But then he buys Vortex?? and STILL cant see well!!.:D Anyone that would use Vortex would bark at the moon!!!!

2 weeks is plenty of time I had a idiot sit on my spotting scope and break the eye piece off. Called vortex on a Monday told them deer season started Saturday. Sent it Monday had a new one back on Thursday they made sure I had it back in time. Only problem I have had with the 6 pieces I own and I am hard on ****

I see real well, looking at girlie magazines..........:D

Sully, I'll take that Rockchucker you use for a wheel chock.....lightbulb

When Im standing on the gallows with the rope around my neck....you'll see me clutching a box of breakfast cereal in one hand and my RockChucker in the other hand.....screaming out..."Give me Rock Chucker or give me death".......:D
