Nope... 416 Ruger C.O.L. is 3.340", 416 Rigby C.OL. is 3.750"... don't know the actual mag lengths.Is a Ruger 77 action in Ruger .416 the same length Rigby .416?
IME, you can measure the box with calipers. That generally works well.At the risk of sounding like a bone head but how exactly do you get this measurement? Still learning all this stuff and would like to measure my own to see how it corelates to the rest but not sure how to go about it. Thanks
No, the Ruger 416 Rigby action is a full length magnum action with a mag box of 3.800". IIRC. The 416 Rigby has a OAL of 3.750" with most bullets at the crimp cannelure. Is a Ruger 77 action in Ruger .416 the same length Rigby .416?
So, if you re-barreled a Ruger Rigby action to a 300 PRC you could seat the long bullets out to 3.800" instead of 3.400". Cheers.
Both of the only 2 commercial cartridges I know of are longer than 3.4"So, if you re-barreled a Ruger Rigby action to a 300 PRC you could seat the long bullets out to 3.800" instead of 3.400". What a concept.
