Light weight and varmint barrels

I would like to build a budget savage with a varmint barrel in 260 or 7rem mag. And keep it as light as possible. Anyone build one under 8lbs with or without scope.

Look into a Proof Research barrel

Really, an all up weight of 8lb in combination with the word budget is a challenge.

Adding varmint to the mix makes budget even harder to reach.

Fluted sendoro profile barrel. Again that kills the budget idea.

In looking at Shilens barrel chart the #5 lightweight varmint finished at 26" weight is 4lb 8oz. The #17 Remington Sendero finished at 24" weight is 5 lbs.
It will be hard to get an 8 lb rifle with any barrel length to it with any of these barrels and they are some of the lightest "varmint" styles.
