I was looking at this thread... Dang there's some nice rifles here... I gotta post some pics haha. Nothing custom, but most shoot fairly decent.
Remington 700 BDL Varmint in .222 Rem, topped with a Weaver V-24 in std Leupold 1 pc. base and rings. Refinished, hand-checkered, and inlayed stock. Custom engraving on BDL floorplate. About a 0.3-0.4" shooter, consistently.
Savage 93R17 BTV in .17 HMR with Tasco 6-24 scope in Weaver rings. Nothin fancy, longest shot with this was a one-shot kill @ 160 yds. Wind has a major effect on this bullet though.
Winchester Pre-'64 Model 70 Hunter Grade in .220 Swift with a Lyman Super Target Spot 10x. Shoots under an inch, best group ever was about 1/4" center to center, but the throat is pretty shot out.
Savage model 12 Long Range Precision RBLP in .22-250 Rem with a Leupold VX-III 6.5-20x50 LR SF with Varmint Hunter's reticle in Talley 2 pc. ring/base combo. This rifle is a shooter any way you look at it. 0.1" is not uncommon, with 0.2 the (sickeningly) consistent group size (haha). This is my go to varmint gun, the only downside is the weight; it's about 16 and change, unloaded.
This really isn't a varmint rifle or a true custom, but gotta show it off .
Rem 700 VTR in .308 Win.
Tubb Speedlock firing pin and spring
Callahan cocking piece and aluminum shroud
Timney 1.5 - 4 lb. trigger
Bell and Carlson Medalist vertical grip stock (DuraCoated)
Allen stock pack
Picatinny rails installed on front end of stock
Turner AWS sling
GG&G "Sling Thing" rail to sling adapter
Wyatt's DBM (5 and 10 rnd mags) 5 rnd in gun in pic
Leupold picatinny rail
Burris XTR rings with picatinny tops
Burris TAC30 4.5-14x42mm AO scope
Sinclair offset scope level
Harris BR-S bipod with Alpha Ind. pod lock on GG&G rail adapter
4 shots @ 100 yds. = 0.221". This group was the first one after I had my stock painted, so it was not 100% sighted in. I just slapped scope back on and shot, I guess it wasn't really far off for taking off the scope and just putting it back on. I don't have the proof on me right now haha, but this rifle will shoot consistently about .75" @ 350 yds. (some smaller some bigger, smallest was about 0.541" @ 350 yds.). I have done it, with witnesses of course... I have shot this rifle out to 500 yds. and it performs very well.
