Let’s see those Smokeless builds!!

Without going down stairs to the loading bench to check, I don't push Benchmark past 91grs, which is safe in my rifle.
I actually prefer 8208 over Benchmark and 88.5grs works. My Satterlee test results with 8208 shows almost a single node from 88grs to 92grs. Consistently accurate.

For me I am looking for temp stable powders so I can get my load for IOWA in January. Dream deer hunt for me.

I will be trying a host of good powders this year but for my IOWA deer load it has to be a temp stable one.
Benchmark at 92 gr is my first starting point for a deer load.

I need to find powders that work well for 325 gr bullets too. Besides H4895.

Got mine put together recently. Im burning bh209 in it. My first group at 100 yards

Its an old left handed 700SA that I've had for 20+ years. Think its the 4th barrel that its had on it, 22-250, 6.5x284, 20-250, and now this 45. Brux 45 cal 1:20 finished at 26". Hankins brake, breach plug and modules. Greyboe stock that was inlet for a right hand 700 and m5 bottom metal. I filled that in with q-cells and epoxy. Recut it for an ADL trigger guard and a left bolt. Cerakoted it with a kryptek type pattern. What a PITA. All the metal is cerakoted titanium grey. Still got the crappy factory trigger, which will get changed at some point. Right now there is a mark4 4.5x14 on it. Once I work up the load thats gonna come off since I cannot use that for a muzzleloader only season here. I'm going to put a leupold RDS with CDS on it since red dots are legal. I did all the machine work out of my shop.

To kick this chat into gear again as its just too good to lay stagnant here we go. Been playing with 10x and it's going to be just about my favorite powder for my 45XML.
Shooting pittman 303HC with 89gr I am around 3066 fps and .3 group at a 100.

My primer modules look great and on my next outing I am going go three shots of each 90,91,92. Just see where I get to.
I may repeat 89gr to see consistency. As I am trying to figure out my go to load for my January muzzleloader hunt in Iowa. Dream hunt

Long story shortened................

These custom rifles are just flat out shooters. IMO they are more accurate than us shooters.
Not only are they accurate, they are also EXCELLENT BH209 rifles.

Shortened............ Range day today, but had an old boy who just wanted to talk, NON-STOP. Good guy, loves shooting, and was accurate with his 6.5.
No way l was going to shoot like normal, especially with him looking over my shoulder, talking non stop.

Anyway, I fouled at 200yds, and having a target at 500yds and another at 600yds, I only fired two rounds at each target, packed it up and came home.

120grs VOLUME of BH209, .060" veggie wad, 350gr XLD's. Checking chart for the 1K match at Atterbury next month.
