LEOPOLD 2800 RANGEFINDER

I just bought the rx-2800. It's awesome. I can range bales from 2100-2400 yards repeatedly. The other thing I really like is the tiny cross hair option. I started a thread on it not too long ago with what I thought about it

I'm surprised with the unhappy people with the sig 2000. Mine has been great for the past year on anything I point it at, out to, and slightly past Sig's stated max range...

Link? I never saw the thread.

I just ordered a Leica 2400. I have AB on my phone so didn't think I needed the 2700. I considered the 2800 Leupold, but I have had such good luck with all the Leicas I've used and my 2000 Sig was no better, if as good, as my Leica 1600 so passed on the new sig too.

Let us know what you think of it after some field use?
So far my Leica 1600 has ranged past anything I could ever hit. It does better on vegetation than rocks and talus slopes.

i am more confuse
using the older Leica rangemaster 1600, if i spot a target down 30 degres , the reading distance will be the real distance or the horizontal distance wich is shorter ???

With the Leica 1600b, 2000b and 2700b if you have the menu set to EHR (Equivalent Horizontal Range) and you range an object above or below you you will see 2 readings appear, the first is the actual distance eg 340 yards the second is the EHR range eg 325 yards. The second will always be shorter than the first unless you are ranging an object that is exactly level with your position.

I think the Leica 2400 will be a good option. I just prefer one too it should be here tomorrow so maybe I'll get a review on it vs the sig 2000. I hope it walks all over it which I think it will. I have trouble ranging things past 800-1000 yards with my sig. Elkaholic did yours ship yet?

Hey guys,

I realize this is an old thread, but any updates on the Lecia 2400 or 2700b?

Would like to know what you thought using them in actual hunting situations. Like ranging elk, deer, or in weather or flat light.

Thanks
