I have my own land on which to shoot so no need to go to a range. But it sure must be aggravating for you all that go to the range and the guy's rifle next to you triggers your LR but your own rifle does not. Beginning to regret buying the **** thing.
Why didn't you try using your old traditional style chronograph before shelling out all those $$$$ for a Lab Radar? Rain is almost never an issue at the ranch, which is what most people don't like about a regular chrony other than waiting for a dead firing line at a public range.

Well I guess you just named two great reasons. And for me it's not waiting to set it up. It's waiting to take it down. And also it does rain in other areas. Besides I do lots of LR shooting in the rain. There's no substitute for practice and experience shooting in the rain. I'm not aware of any ballistic app that calculates for that. Also the lab radar can be used for air rifles and archery. Just my 2c.
I'm sure once he makes the changes that I and others have suggested this issue will disappear.

also OP
I forgot to mention that there is another situation that will cause an error but wasn't likely your issue.
mid a bullet is tumbling or breaking-up it will definitely give you an error. I recently experienced this while shooting some Hornady V-Max. Once I got up over 3650 FPS I started getting errors.
Just something to remember for the future.

To be clear, I am not associated with JKL in any way, other than being a very happy customer.

For all that are wondering about JKL "in-stock" issues, it is my belief that JKL is a small-ish operation that basically builds these as orders come in. Not a bad business model, by any means.

I have seen several times now - from members here, and other shooters that I have turned on to this trigger - that the products are completed and shipped within a week of JKL receiving the order.

While they may not (do not) ever show in stock, I have considerable confidence that your order will be at your doorstep within a week to a week and a half of placing the order. He has repeatedly demonstrated a surprisingly quick turn-around on all transactions that I am aware of.

I had the same situation as the OP. I contacted LabRadar and they had me send back. It turns out that I had a bad mic. They replaced it and it has been perfect ever since.

I found with my traditional chrony that measured speeds would vary by up to 100fps depending on the amount of sun. On a cloudy day it was relatively accurate but after that forget it.
I, too, have the MS and now the LabRadar. I never used my traditional or my MS any longer.

FYI, a tripod works great to hold the LabRadar. I use the same one that I previously used with my conventional chrony.

If you have rail sections on the fore end (pic or Arca-Swiss), MK Machining makes a pretty slick adaptor that keeps the MS off the barrel. Big advantage if you have a chassis. I switch between rifles at the range too often to make something on the gun convenient, but apparently some guys are using this to run an MS 100% of the time with no POI issues to get larger data sets. If I had a dedicated ELR rifle in a chassis I would most likely end up with one:
