Bob,
So sorry to hear that. That's a great loss to the hunting/shooting community
and he will will be greatly missed by those who frequent this forum. Can't but
imagine the loss to his close friends and family. Thank you for letting me know. I'm very new to this forum but it is a great site and I have learned a lot from the post and articles found here (your's included), and I especially enjoyed Ian's input. Hope to meet him in heaven some day when it comes my
time to follow that last path blazed by those who have gone before us.

Ian knew a lot about animals and shooting animals. Consequently, he also knew a lot about bullets and their performance. I think that knowledge is the foundation that makes shooting phone books or newspaper meaningful.

I certainly do not have that level of knowledge and I quit shooting phone books long ago when it was clear to me that I didn't have a clue as to what I was seeing.
