Kelbly Atlas or Defiance Tenacity?

So I've narrowed down a build I'm starting to work on to using one of these two actions. I've done a ton of research and think that these are the two best actions in the less then 1k price range. I'm really not interested in the Bighorn Origin or barrel nut and switch barrel setups. Also it's going to be a long action so the Bat Igniter is out. But if there's any out there besides what I've mentioned I'm open to looking into it.

So anyway help me decide which action to go with, your experience with each or either and why you would choose it over another.

Your help is appreciated guy's!

I don't think you can go wrong with either one.

I have both. The atlas is smoother, but does have the removable trigger hanger which will require a slight mod to your stock just in front of the rear pillar

That brings up a good point with the Atlas. Can I run a Rem 700 trigger assembly with and without the trigger hanger?

I know I couldn't go wrong with either but I just keep going back and forth, one day set on the Atlas, next day set on the Tenacity. Through everything I've read I can expect the Atlas to be smoother. But the Tenacity is just a sweet looking action and I like the idea of integral lug though I'm sure it has no real benefit over the double pinned lug.

The rifle will be a mid weight hunting rifle in 300wm if that influences anyone's opinion on which would be the better fit.

Not sure on being able to run the Atlas without a trigger hanger and I dont think there hanger is adjustable which is usually the beauty of one, but that being said ive heard there timing is very good.
I dont think you cold go wrong with either one.

I'd get the one with the integral recoil lug. Much simpler barrel swapping. No fussing with a separate loose lug.
The separate loose lug in my experience (Granted mine is an Origin, not an Atlas) requires virtually no fussing as it is pinned. I would think the Atlas would be equally easy to deal with. Way better than dealing with a 700 for sure.

To the OP, I see you said you don't want barrel nut pre-fits, what about shouldered? If no, I'd say choose the one that you like the color of better. :) If pre-fits will be a factor go with the one that has more smiths making pre-fits for it which I believe is probably Kelbly but don't quote me on that, you should look into it.

Thanks for the reply's so far guy's.

Archangel, I would not be against a shouldered pre-fit when it comes time to rebarrel but at the moment I'm not too big on the idea of doing a switch barrel setup so I don't think that would be a factor in my choice.

Did you look at Impact Actions or BAT? Just a suggestion. I have used Impact and they are smooth as a hot knife on ice. BAT has some of the BEST technology that I have ever seen combined from the top industries to mafe an action. I personnalyhave Defiance, but seriously looking at Impact. Just my thoughts.

I recommend the atlas myself. The tenacity is a good action too. Nothing wrong with the origin once you get the the cocking piece timed to eliminate cock in close. Kelbly will give you different hangers to adjust the same. You cannot ran the atlas without the hanger. The few defiance actions I've been around have timed up well to TT triggers.

I have shot almost every brand of action out there.
I have two Kelbly Atlas Tacs. In my experience, they are one of the absolute smoothest actions I have ever shot.
I also have others to compare them to.
R700 (x3)
Defiance Deviant GA Hunter
Lone Peak Fuzion TI (x2)
Building two on Defiance AnTi X as we speak
