It's a whiskey tasting kinda of night ...

That's how I found Eagle Rare at $49/bottle rather than $200.

Just curious, what's "normal retail" on Blantons? I have never seen it on a shelf.
Believe it or not $45. I paid $ 90 for that one. The local grocery which has a huge whiskey selection sold it for retail. I was lucky enough to grab one.

At one time eagle rare was $30.
I have seen things online where people say you should pay more than $40 for Eagle rare. But it is what I can find it for. Some stores are literally $200, so I can handle $49.

I also read an article not long ago that the author thought Buffalo Trace products like Weller and Eagle are going to encroach the Pappy territory in the next 5-10 years. I sure hope not.

Yeah ultimately it's a personal preference what you think is a fair price.

First time having this. It's good but it's got a bit of a syrupy thing going on. Feels thicker than what I expected.

Some Bourbon is like Federal primers. I used to be a Blantons drinker and actually have all the pewter caps. Now I can't find it anywhere. Now I just grab a bottle of Elijah Craig and enjoy it while it lasts.

I used to drink a lot of Jack Daniels. That is until they put on a Drag Queen glamping thing. Now I mostly drink a some stuff that is about to hit the market that my friend makes. He's naming it after my late dad. "Mac's Artillery Reserve". Dad used to move the artillery and set it up in Vietnam and then set up a perimeter to protect it. I have to say my buddy does a great job. It'd make dad proud. I'd put it up against any of the top shelf bourbons I've had. RIP 3-25-22. He was one of the greatest men I've ever known. I do miss him every day.
