If your trying to hump one of the heavies out of something like a 308 at sea level then the 1-8 would be maybe useful.

That is true....I forgot about that. But it's not a real long-range caliber.The 8 twist is what you want for a 300 AAC Blackout shooting 220's suppressed at subsonic speeds.
As everyone else has said 10 twist would be better for a RUM
300 Whisper and 300 AAC Blackout are almost identical as far as specs and load data, so they would both be fine with an 8" twist.The 300 Whisper probably falls into a 1-8 twist round as well.
