Is Tangent Theta worth the $ over NF?

You would have to compare the NF ATACR F1 to a TT to be even close. Then, price is not "double" for the TT over the NF ATACR F1.

I have shot behind no less than 40 different NF scopes. The ATACR F1 is a great scope. It is probably THE top choice for American hunters who want to step up to top tier optics. For 98% of shooters, they are about as far up as people will go.

For me, I can see a difference in glass quality between NF ATACR F1 & TT.

Mechanically, the TT turrets cannot be beat.
Reticle choice might be your determining factor, but the new TT Gen 3XR is awesome. The Mil-C from NF is great too.

I own several top tier scopes. Not a single NF though. But I do own 3 TTs.

ZCO would be another top choice. I own 2 of the 4-20×50 versions, one on my personal 25SST. The other on one of my 6.5SS.

Maybe even consider a S&B PMII 3-20×50US or 5-20×50US.

Actually if you can find a used Premier light tactical 3-15x50 (they go for $1400-2000) it beats the NXS as well, at the same price point.

Dude it's well known TT blows everybody else out of the water except for ZCO and hensoldt.

For what I can get an ATACR for is about half the price of the TT, military discounts come in handy sometimes.

Thanks for the info everyone, I greatly appreciate it. After our move to Huntsville in two weeks, I'll have to see if I can look thorough both scopes. Hopefully I can do so at the same time.

I have several NXS's and love 'em, but they do not have ED glass. ATACR and Competition do. That is why I am asking which model folks are comparing the TT to.

That said, I guess I don't really care if someone thinks this or that scope has better glass than the NF ED. It is so incredible that it does not matter. Neither targets nor deer have fine print on them you need to read before shooting. Moreover, at ranges like 600 yards, the atmosphere is going to mess with your "super clear" picture anyway. I want great glass, but I also want a great reticle and great turrets, at a reasonable price.

NF just about busts my "reasonable price" ceiling, and I know I am getting hell-for-stout.

NXS glass is very good, but it is not ED. I'm waiting to hear someone say that TT glass is much better than NF ED glass. I'm not going to believe them, but I'm waiting.

I've got a TT315m and an NX8. No comparison. I've shot next to an atacr 4-16 and still no comparison. Only thing TT isnt the best in is the mag ring. Pretty stiff.
