Is a .223 trainer worth while?

Built a little 223 off of one of those aac marked model 7's they flooded the market with years ago. Entertainment on the cheap, worth it if you have kids or a wife that want to shoot but aren't super serious about it yet as well.
Just need to sell the damned scope off it put something lighter up there and it would be set.

Absolutely! A 223 with 75gr ELD or any other similar bullet is no slouch. In light winds you can hang with anyone under 800yds. Super cheap to shoot and great training!! If you load 75 eld's just touching the lands or .020" off with 23.5gr of XBR will almost be guaranteed to shoot well.
