Did he explain why not? For instance, if your pre-fit barrel is a shouldered barrel specifically machined to meet the headspace for Anti-X specifications, it might not work for the SKLTN Ti because of difference in specifications. As others noted, not all Remington foot print have the same specifications. A pre-fit barrel with a barrel nut is another story.

I am not a gun builder either, but I know that shouldered pre-fits are precisely machined for specific actions. As indicative of @JAYgs8163 and @waspocrew's responses, they did, too.
