With this being a "Long Range..." forum I figured most of the members would know that a .50bmg shoots a .510" projectile, where as the law states that the projectile must fall between .350 -.500.It is totally asinine that you can hunt deer with a BMG but not a 243! Better than shotgun only, and hopefully just temporary.
Further more, not too many people have .375 Cheytecs or .416 Barretts and if they did they'd probably have the money to drop on a nice Whelen or BM or SOCOM or Beowulf and would find it more cost effective to drive deer with that. They aren't allowing anything under .35 cal because they don't want a 140-180gr triple shock ending up in someone's hallway.
