Introducing the Absolute Hammer

You got it made, I drive 4.5 hours. That means to make it worthwhile I need to make it two days with two nights in rented accommodations and meals.

Accurate BCs make life easier for me. Especially investing the time and energy into a bullet that ends up not gaining ballistic advantage over another. Finally get a day the wind isn't blowing 25 mph and I'm not working just to drive out there and realize my BCs are way below what's on the website. It's like ahh ****. The 155 hammer there is basically a 200 yard difference to reach 2000 fps between what hammer posts on the website and what AB shows on their app.

Must be nice. I have to drive like 3 hrs to shoot at distance.
I suppose that could change the dynamic some. I drive about 10 minutes to a range where I can shoot to several miles. About a 5 minute drive from my house is a 1200 yard public land range, and there is another 800 yard range about the same distance in a different direction that has steel hung up permanently, on public land, so that aspect is easy out here

Here's what I came up with on the 25-06 AI, I was hoping for a little more speed but I have a 23.5" tube and it hindered my quest,
Rem 700 action
Brux 10 twist 4 groove #9 contour
McRee G5
90g Absolute Hammer
RL15@ 57 grains
CCI 200 Primer
.0045 neck tension
Seated to the last Bearing Surface Groove
Lee FCD@ 1/8 of a turn from bullet contact
3728 fps
SD 7.6
ES 17
Verified@ 500 yards and yes it hit the steel freaking hard
I got into the 3800's but it was hard on primer pockets and I do believe that a 26" tube would have gotten me into the 3800's safely

That's some awesome results.
We have three 25-06 rifles in the house, I'd love to have one rechambered to an A.I.
Can't hardly wait for the Hammers to show up.
Should be any day now

Any thoughts on what kind of speed I could get one of the 178gr or 162gr absolute hammers up to out a 20" 308win?

Wondering if it's worth looking into over the 178 eld-x.

Accurate loaded in the eld-x for comparison is 2593fps without pushing it. Shoots sub 3/4 moa there so I haven't messed with it since.

Thanks!

anybody run the 140 AH in a 7SAUM? I've been running 150gn e-tips with 62.0gn H4831SC out of my 22" 8.5 twist, they've been decent but looking to switch things up. I've got some RL16, RL17 and H4350, hoping one of these will do the trick.
