.308 Cal-151gr Absolute Hammer™ - Hammer Bullets
A 1-12" twist rate Absolute Hammer™ that will be fantastic in the 308 Winchester. Imagine 3200 fps in the 308 with a bullet large enough for any of the North American big game. Absolute Hammer™s are designed with an ogive that does not get engraved by the rifling. This results in much lower...hammerbullets.com
I was suggesting that the Hammer boys had caused a supply disruption causing the price to go up.Presently most metals are up. I am a part owner of a recycling business. It's generally raise about this time of the year and that subject to change. There one thing for sure metals prices move up and down.
Yeah but there making a dent in itLol the hammer boys are small players on the world stage.
What I meant in the world stage of copper supply. I think Steve and his partner are awesome. Refreshing. I recently even was hesitant to twist fast. Twist fast for one bullet and if the rifle doesn,t like it you are screwed. Hammers are changing my mind.Yeah but there making a dent in it
get you some 4166 I thinkSo the 7mm-08 and the 140gr Absolute with IMR-4064 did not work out. They did not like each other Lol.
RL17 is next and I'll will update you all on that.
they started that wayLol the hammer boys are small players on the world stage.
get you some 4166 I thin
they started that way
I have no doubt in their success. If I was a banker I would want a piece lolIt's hard to start big and go up. Everybody has to start someplace. I hope it works out for them. I feel that they are on track. It will move us along, with more load work ups, which is fun.
That makes sense to meI"ve been following this thread as I am able since the AH introduction, so please forgive me if I've missed it- what is the current theory for why the AH sees so much more velocity, and particularly why are there diminishing returns with larger diameter bullets?
My theory:
I think that it makes sense for the larger diameter bullets to see less of a velocity increase than the smaller diameter. Correct me if I'm wrong, but the velocity increase is thought to be due to a decrease in friction within the barrel while still maintaining a sufficient gas seal - i think?
If that is the case, larger diameter bullets have a lower ratio of surface area to cross sectional area - so reductions in friction will have a lesser effect, all else being equal.
I don't think it was the larger diameter projectiles that were seeing diminishing returns, though I could be wrong. I know the larger case volumes were seeing diminishing returns. I have a theory, but not enough money or test equipment to even begin.I"ve been following this thread as I am able since the AH introduction, so please forgive me if I've missed it- what is the current theory for why the AH sees so much more velocity, and particularly why are there diminishing returns with larger diameter bullets?
